1. Are Smate sliding doors safe for homes with children? +
Yes. Smate uses safety-backed glass and mirrors. In case of breakage, the glass fragments remain attached to the safety film, significantly reducing the risk of injury.
2. Can Smate sliding doors be customized to match my interior design? +
Absolutely. Smate sliding doors can be customized using different aluminum profile finishes, glass or mirror options, boards, fabric inserts, or wallpaper inserts. This allows the doors to match your bedroom or living space interiors seamlessly.
3. . Are sliding doors better than hinged wardrobe shutters? +
Yes, especially for modern homes. Sliding doors save space, offer a clean and contemporary look, are easy to operate, and work well in compact bedrooms.
4. How long will Smate sliding doors last? +
Smate sliding systems are tested for 1,15,000 operating cycles, which translates to approximately 40 years of regular residential use.
5. Can sliding doors be installed from floor to ceiling? +
Yes. Smate sliding doors can be installed from floor to ceiling, creating a seamless and premium wardrobe appearance.
6. Do Smate sliding doors require high maintenance? +
No. The aluminum profiles are rust-resistant and low-maintenance. Regular cleaning is sufficient to keep them looking new.
7. What materials and finishes are available for Smate sliding doors? +
Smate sliding doors use aluminum profiles available in Champagne Glossy, Champagne Matt, Silver Glossy, and Silver Matt finishes.
8. What are the maximum and minimum dimensions supported? +
The supported height ranges from 450 mm to 2700 mm. The supported width is up to 1200 mm for board or board with glass, and up to 1000 mm for glass or mirror only. The minimum supported width is 600 mm.
9. What insert materials and thicknesses are supported? +
Supported inserts include 9 mm board, 4 mm lacquered glass, 4 mm silver mirror, and 5 mm bronze or grey mirror.
10. Is the glass toughened or safety-backed? +
Smate uses safety-backed normal glass and mirrors, not toughened glass. In case of impact, the safety film holds the broken pieces together.
11. What is the required wardrobe depth for installation? +
A minimum clearance of 100 mm or 4 inches from the front edge of the wardrobe is required for track installation and smooth door movement.
12. Can sliding doors be installed on cement shelves? +
Yes. If a 100 mm clearance is available, the doors can be installed directly. If not, an external framework must be created to mount the sliding system.
13. Are the sliding doors adjustable after installation? +
Yes. Smate rollers allow floor-level adjustment of up to 30 mm, ensuring proper alignment even on uneven floors.
14. What is the delivery timeline? +
Smate typically delivers sliding door systems within 5 to 10 working days, depending on the order size and level of customization.
15. What warranty does Smate offer? +
Smate provides a 5 years warranty on sliding door hardware against manufacturing defects.
